Had a lovely meal at Earl's on Saturday night. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived at 7pm, but full and buzzing by the time we left. The food was perfectly cooked; I had the sea bass which was particularly good, others in my party had the lamb and pork with starters of pigeon and the seafood tapas. Our evening was a resounding success and I would certainly recommend Earl's to others for a great meal in a stylish but cosy restaurant. NB. We were able to chat all evening without shouting.

Dinner at Earls restaurant in sleepy Ampthill is an ideal out of town location for a buisness dinner or for friends to enjoy an evening out. The service could not be faulted, the food was superb & not what I expected, I was pleasantly surprised & would highly recommend Earls for its varied menu, fine cuisine & friendly staff.

We visited Earls of Ampthill on a satuday evening and couldn't fault the food or service one bit. The portions sizes where perfect (meaning we could have 3 courses!) the food was delicious and the service was very friendly without being invasive. There is a limited menu which means that what they do serve is great, I had the monkfish which was cooked to prfection. The only downside was that we were stuck in a corner with not too much room! Would highly recommend for a small group or couples.

We dined at Earl's for the first time on a wet Tuesday evening, but despite the weather outside, the welcome was warm and the ambience sunny. Our food was excellent, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The selection available was enough to satisy all tastes. We will all be going again.

Earl's had the best looking menu for miles around. We traveled 10 miles from the Hotel in Bedford to visit. The menu had been changed just 5 days before we arrived. The food was very good indeed, well presented and tasty. One of my friends thought her starter was over peppered. When I complained that my main course sauce, was also over peppered, the waiter disagreed. I was not going to press the point, as I had managed to eat the rest of the dish. However my feedback was ignored.I would return

A very pleasant setting with good homely food. The food was not outstanding and was good value with the offer, but would have been a bit overpriced at normal prices. I would return, but not too often as the menu is very limited.

This was the first time we had visited Earls and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, we felt welcomed and the menu choice was excellent. Service was prompt and all food was delicious. We will definitely return and take friends and family.

The ambience was excellent, the food was nouveau cuisine & quite interesting, the young waitresses were very friendly, shame about the older waitress who did not smile, did not enquire if the meal was ok - such a disappointment as we were celebrating a birthday and she put a damoer on the evening with her dour looks & aloof personality!!!!

It is a pleasant enough place to try it out. However, the food is nothing to shout about. Our main course Pork belly and Lamb roast were okish - the vegatables were pretty average and the portions were very small indeed. We did not venture into the wine - so cannot make any comment. The sweet dish was ok. Whether we shall go again - not sure!!
