This was a return visit - I'd first eaten at De Waaghels on my previous visit to Amsterdam over a year ago. I wasn't disappointed on my return visit. This has to be one of the nicest vegetarian restaurants I've eaten at; the food is fresh and imaginative and the menu changes twice a month. I'd suggest pushing the boat out and ordering either the De Waaghels classic dish or the dish of the month, but don't neglect the deserts either!

Great choice of Veggie dishes, which makes a real change for anyone who is a vegetarian. Friendly staff and a nice informal atmosphere.

Lovely find, not too far from the centre of Amsterdam, and near the Museums. Relatively small; very busy. Would say booking at weekends is essential. Menu was varied, and included some special offers. We both chose mixed dishes, providing a good variety of mezze-type foods. Food was very tasty and well presented. Service friendly and, considering how busy they were, fast enough. Local cat seems welcome in there. It was very well behaved, I loved it, but some UK diners were surprised!

Me and my friends had a great time in Waaghals. The waiter was very nice and attentive the portions were well balanced and the whole place was really cheap. The four of us had four different plates all with a variety of different delicious things on them. There is a cat in the restaurant who is extremely well behaved and very cute, we played with it after dinner. We all had a great time, and all for less than what two of us ate for at Restaurant Lieve.

Excellent vegetarian food. Happily tweaked dishes so the vegan diner could enjoy. Very friendly staff

As a vegetarian, I was very excited to go to De Waaghals, but ended up being disappointed. It is way too expensive and the service was pitiful at best. The food was okay, but it wasn't anything special. The pumpkin empanada appetizer was the best part of the meal.

De Waaghals - in a lovely neighbourhood and if you're a veggie worth making the short walk out of Amsterdam centre. It was a little bit quiet for us but we were on a hen do !

We had an absolutely lovely meal at De Waaghals. A very low-key atmosphere, and a resident cat combined with excellent service and fantastic food for a wonderful evening. No rushing us off the table either. In general, some place we would definitely recommend to friends.(found 8 reviews)
