This was a return visit but not upto the previous experience. The well built chef was not his genial self and some of the service was a bit haphazard. My shrimp croquettes and kidneys were fine but the vegetables were overcooked. The following day we went to the Alcide which we have frequented for 15 years and that was well upto standard. On our next Lille visit, I think we will try an alternative to Clement Marot.

As with other top tabler's we also found the 46 euro menu excellent value for the quality of the food and wine, which in the case of the red was a very drinkable loire cab franc. Foodwise liques chicken and venison in a wine sauce , both excellent, as were our starters and desserts. Service was also very good. The only minor gripe was the room being very brightly lit.

Arriving at 8 pm at Clément Marot, the patron introduced himself with a hyena-like laugh that became rather annoying in time. The food, whilst good local produce, was nothing out of the ordinary and the wine very expensive. However, the most disappointing aspect was the service which tailed off as the night wore on. Most customers had left, but we still had to wait ages to order desserts, our waiter having disappeared backstage, while we had to rouse Maman at the bar for further sustenance

Clément Marot is an excellent choice for dinner in central Lille. 46 Euro per person for 3 cources including a bottle of good wine between 2; great value for a traditional 'French with a Flemish twist' meal. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our superb lunch at Clement Marot in Lille France. We had a seperate room in the restaurant, which also had its own clockroom, and as we were a large group of 17 persons, this was an excellent idea.. The room we had was beautifully decorated and was very colourful with nice furnishings, the service was first class and nothing seemed to much trouble for the chef and his staff. We would all recommened this restaurant highly!! Will certainly return to this restaurant one day.

We have been going to Lille regularly for 15 years but until we saw it on toptable did not know the Clément Marot. It is just off Rue Nationale so very central. Does not look much from the outside but a real joy inside. The jovial chef/patron really made our evening from the moment he welcomed us. We had the 3 course €34 menu. Excellent value. The Provence white wine was good but pricey at €38. Service was efficient and well spaced. Certainly a place to re-visit

Very warm welcome. Food attractively presented and very tasty. Interesting flavours. When a faulty dish was served (tough steak) it was immediately replaced to the diner's satisfaction. A very pleasant evening.
