Very stuffy and I would say overpriced given the ambience. very old fashioned. Food was good but the overall atmosphere and experience let it down.

Chantterelle came at the perfect time. We celebrated my birthday on Easter Monday after a very busy three months and it fulfilled all expectations. It was expensive, but for a very special occasion it was really worth every penny. My guests raved about the food and we enjoyed the service no end. Perfect evening with friends on a special occasion on our first night in New York

Food superb. Ambience superb. Service superb...until it would seem we were being rushed out to accommodate a later sitting. Spending $250 a head, would expect table for the night. Disappointing end.

Chanterelle does have very tasty food but we did have to drag the service from them somewhat. It would also have been a nice addition if there had been some kind of back ground music.

Chanterelle NYC is charming little restaurant with a relaxed casual atmosphere, the service was attentive but not over the top, and the choice of wine was fantastic.The guy who had chosen the restaurants wine was both knowledgeable and charming. The food was rich,well prepared & presented. No sense of them rushing you to finish, the table turnaround for the night would have benn 1. A bit pricey but well worth it for that special occasion ($420 including glass of Champagne/Wine and the tip)(found 7 reviews)
