Initially I was concerned having read some of the toptable reviews about Cerise with reference to portion control as I am a girl who LOVES her food - but I have never heard such poppy cock in all my life. The food was brilliant, and my husband and I were too stuffed to eat a desert! I recommend it for a lovely night out - I am sorry the reviewer who thought the food portions were too small may put others off eating here. There was too much on my plate even for me!

We took a client to Cerise on Wednesday lunch time. It was busy (however it is Xmas season) and we were impressed by the surrondings - the hotel looked lovely. The food was good - although service was pretty slow and not eating meat the mains selection was a little limited for me. My companions also thought that the portions were small (she was worried about taking her husband there for the booking they had coming up!). I liked the venue overall and the bar looked great too for pre/post drinks.

We were celebrating, so it was nice to go somewhere special, but it's probably a bit pricy for a normal meal out. Service was excellent, the best we've had in Reading, and we had a lovely, leisurely, relaxing evening. definitely recommend it.

Cerise has a lovely modern setting with an eclectic mix of fabrics and patterns which work well. Service was a touch on the slow side but the food was very good (portions a little small - don't turn up ravenous).

Cerise Restaurant was a plessure. The service was fantastic and everyone was very polite and friendly. THe food was gorgeous. I had Scallops for starter and Monkfish for main and there was nothing to fault. The Cerise is a bit on the expensive side, but you would want to pay the prices as the experience/food is brilliant. Would highly recommend.

Cerise at The Forbury is elegant, fabulously tasty and beautifully presented food in absolutely beautifully designed interior of this awesome Hotel building. Quite pricey, but well worth it for the immaculate surroundings, fabulous wine list and gorgeous Hotel for a romantic break!

Cerise is an elegant, sumptuous addition to the Reading restaurant scene. The decor is attractive but not overly showy; the service is excellent; the food is of the highest quality. It is pricey but not higely overpriced given the quality of the food and the venue.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
