The gentleman I booked Cantina del Ponte for was very impressed with the service, the food and the decor. He was visiting from Dublin and would like to re-visit when he returns to London.

Overall apart from the very long wait for our food the whole experience was enjoyable. Staff were very apologetic re the delays and put it down to Christmas party groups. food good with offer and excellent setting.

On arrival we had drinks at the bar before sitting for dinner. When we were seated at our table we felt a little harrassed to order our food. We were asked several times were we ready to order. General opinion - it was ok but nothing special.

Cantina del Ponte wasn't first choice for my Birthday, but being Xmas, finding somewhere was difficult. However, it turned out to be a good choice and in spite of its' location, without the pretentiousness and prices other establishments nearby. Good service and food, although the courses were a little hurried. I think they may have wanted us out early, but didn't succeed! Worth a visit.

Food was great, portions a bit on the small side but perfect for lunch. Service was so slow.....zzzz It felt like we were being ignored because we were on a cheapo-lunch deal as the small number of other diners seemed to be served very efficiently. Fantastic view of the river and Tower Bridge, would be great in the summer. Bit of a trek from the nearest tube stations but lovely location. Would definatley go back and try the main menu as the set lunch menu was a bit restrictive.

£10 pretty good deal at Cantina though portions were a tad mean. But a really great location, nice buzz on a rainy Saturday lunchtime and service was fine. I would definitely go back and for location and quality, the a la carte looked very reasonable. terrace perfect for summer dining and if they dished out blankets like neighbouring Pont de la Tour, I would have braved the cold outside for the river views.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
