Recently we ha a meal at Camerino's. The restaurant's ambience was excellent. The food was excellently cooked and presented. The evening was topped by a visit to our table by the owner. Can highly recommend this restaurant.

The place was empty when we arrived and to our alarm there wasn't a single vegitarian dish on the menu. After asking for a pasta to be made up for us and nervously waiting for it to arrive we we're really pleased with the dish and the service. We even we're offered free drinks! I wouldn't recommend the hot chocloate though - its looks and smells great but the taste will dissappoint!

Having dined at Camerino several times before it pains me to say it, but this was distinctly average. The food was fine, but aside from the beetroot and ricotta tortelli, uninspired. This remains a lovely room, but the lighting was overbright, until just as we left the dimmer switch was finally employed, the waitresses were friendly but overworked, and overall it was a slightly drab experience. At £240 for four there are better meals to be had in London.

Four of us enjoyed the Top Table offer for dinner at Camerino. The special offer menu had a tempting and varied choice of starters and mains. I had the mussels in chili for my starter, which was absolutely delicious. The salmon and spinach main was also very good. Ambience would have been fine except the various Xmas do's made it a bit too raucous. The loos are a bit cramped and limited in number. Overall it was great value for very good food and I woud go back again.

Camerino is stylishly decorated, though slightly over-heated, and their telephone has the most annoying ringtone! However, the point is the food which was served promptly, portions were generous, and the set menu very good value. I was disappointed only by the mushrooms - flavourless and overcooked. The linguine with prawns was delicious with a hint of chilli. The wine list is pricey compared to the food, but excellent quality. This is a very good pre-theatre venue with a friedly atmosphere.

Good set choice of meals and drinks. Limitations of meal options for vegan eaters. Would like to have better servers. They did not have english speaking staff. Which is fine for a italian resturant, but more access to our language needed!

Camerino has potential. Slow and difficult service. Lights a bit bright and lack of Music but good food- if it hadn't run out that is!
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
