Afer hearing rave reviews from friends about the Bel in Reading I finally found some time and booked a table. The food was fantastic. The main menu plus specials meant there was plenty to choose from regardless of if you were looking for a classic dish or something modern. The staff were lovely and happy to engage with us, We were greeted with a smile and thanked as we left. It made us feel very welcome. We will defintely return.

We hadn't been to the Bel and Dragon for a while, but we were pleased to find their high standards hadn't slipped. The choice of meals is wonderful, there really is something for everyone, and despite it being extremely busy, the service was faultless. Lovely location and excellent atmosphere.

Bel & The Dragon is a reliable, good quality chain and the Reading branch is no different. (try also Cookham and Windsor). An excellent, varied menu, with great daily specials. Top ingredients used and beautifully presented. Dining area has a relaxed pub feel to it, but food is definitely restaurant quality. Great place to also sit for an evening drink during the warm evenings - either out by the waterside or just indoors in comfy leather chairs with the French doors wide open.

The atmosphere at Bel & the Dragon was great. We went on a busy Sunday lunchtime, for my Mum's birthday. On the whole, the food was fantastic, although the fishcakes in comparison were very disappointing! They were really bland and the salad with which they were served amounted to five little gem lettuce leaves. Hmmm. The service was very friendly, although we did eventually have to ask for dessert menus after eating our main meal. minor dissappointments; on the whole though, and we'd all go back.

All 4 of us really enjoyed our meals the food was very very good, especially the john dory and the boys really enjoyed their steaks.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
