The most memorable and possibly the most enjoyable dining experience we've had. The food was excellent and the staff we're lovely. As well as being a great cook, Barry is friendly and interesting. If only there was more room in my belly. Obviously we will recommend 'Barry at the Tureen' to everyone!

Barry at the Tureen lived up to all expectations. The food was very good, in particular the crab stuffed mushrooms. Barry himself is a marvel, how he manages to do everything himself whilst also being the perfect host is remarkable. What more can I say, a lovely meal, excellent host, I look forward to returning shortly.

Barry is the best thing about Barry at the Tureen. It's almost as if he's invited you round to his home for some delicious home-cooked food as he tells you about his life and asks you about yours. Only difference being that you have to pay for it at the end, but worth every penny. It's good to find these little gems in Brighton, to support the little guy rather than visiting another chain. We were the only people in that evening so your experience may differ but worth a visit.

We had a fantastic time at Barry at the Tureen last weekend. Barry was the most amazing host and the whole experience was totally unique! It felt like gatecrashing someone's home dinner party- which turned out to be great fun. The food was great too.

This place is a gem. When we first walked in, I was a little confused as it was like walking in to someones living room, however it is this that adds to the charm of the place. Although it was a quite night, the place is full of personality as Barry, the chief & waiter, is also a great entertainer! Food was great, it's also great for a romantic meal or a group of people. Would defintely recommend this place!

Barry's was a delightful experience in every way. Barry and his waitress were impeccable hosts, the food was superb and the ambience was relaxed with an understated elegance. The location was very central and accessible yet it felt off the beaten track as it was on a relatively quiet side street. My husband and I both remarked that it was a magical experience and although we don't live in Brighton, we will definitely return!

Barry at the Tureen was such a lovely experience. I wanted to take my boyfriend out for a lush meal for his birthday and would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Barry greeted us, took our orders and cooked our amazing food for us. Everything we ordered was spot on...if only we had enough room for dessert!

It's like arriving at your favourite and most generous aunt's house for dinner, having brought your own guests. The food was good, although It wasn't a gourmet experience, but it was food for the soul - and you can't put a price on that. Barry and his staff exuded a gentle warmth and generousity of spirit that is all too rare. Very good value. Book a table - and take only your closest friends.
