Bankside, once we found it, was welcoming and warming although the bar staff seemed puzzled that we wanted to order drinks before sitting down (even though that's what the table staff asked us to do). The atmosphere was great and very festive for December. The toilets are rather small and could do with expanding, but they were clean.

The service at the bar and reception was lovely, and the bar has great comfy leather sofas. The restaurant is cavernous and devoid of atmosphere, and the service that we got was surly and unprofessional, with the waitress actually tutting when we asked for more time to decide! The food was ok, reasonable with the deal but I wouldn't have paid more. My steak came with a strange synthetic gravy and undercooked chips, but there is plenty of choice on the eclectic menu. A good place for a big group.

I had a very enjoyable meal the last time I was at Bankside, however this time the service was apalling-the waiter had difficulty understanding what we were trying to order and at the end of the meal, they struggled to find out coats despite having tags for them. Overall I would say that the food was good, but I wouldn't return again due to the poor service.

We had a meal deal of £15 for three courses at Bankside which is very cheap. Unfortunatley the quality of the food reflects the price.

The service at Bankside was quite slow, they forgot to bring our drinks. The menu choice was quite limited but when the food came it was fine and the portions were generous.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
