This restaurant is set in fabulous surroundings which adds to the ambience, although it can be rather chilly but what do you expect from a castle? The food was excellent akthough the desserts were a little disapointing. Afterwards coffee and handmade chocolates were served in the library which was a good and comfortable end to our evening. We were slightly disturbed by a wedding party but this would not stop us visiting again.

Arrival at Anise @ Hazelwood Castle was via a long country lane, off the beaten track. A short walk to the restaurant through some lush gardens, suitable for heels, followed by drinks in a waiting area within the restaurant. We viewed the menu and ordered food prior to moving to our table. The food was devine and the service excellent. I would totally recommend the duck as a starter! The staff were attentive and the service was prompt but not rushed. I'll definitely go again!!

Very nice food, however was let down by at times slow service with regards to the drinks however the location more than makes up for this I think.

Staff were very friendly and we were given a personal conducted tour of castle afterwards, just right to walk off an excellent meal

Dinner at Anise @ Hazelwood Castle was a very pleasant treat. The service was quietly efficient and the food excellent. We dined here about a month ago with the same enjoyment.(found 6 reviews)
