A buzzy busy pre-Christmas atmosphere. Very well placed fo festivities at Rockerfeller centre. Good quality Italian food servd by the only east european Middlesborough supporter we met in NYC.

fairly generic italian, but service was friendly and prompt and pasta was just what we needed after a days' shopping.

Alfredo's was an excellent venue for a value for money meal whilst in New York, the food is excellent and the staff whilst very busy always available. The seating is very close together so you will be very close to your neighbours for the night but that is not to bad as the ambience and food more than make up for this little distraction.

As with all decent restaurants in NY you need to book at least 2 wks ahead, Alfredo of Rome is no exception- the queue (line?) went out the door into the cold December night but our TopTable booking got us straight in. They forgot our special offer (as did we) but at $2 to £1 still good! There are better restaurants (Maze, Telepan etc) but if you go here look out for Eric Morecambe - the Maitre'd - he tours every 180 seconds- we found ourselves obsessing looking out for him rather than the food!

Dining on the TopTable offer, Alfredo's gave us a good, reasonably priced meal in Midtown Manhattan. Combine it with a trip up the nearby Rockefeller Centre, for fantastic views of the skyline at night.

We dined at Alfredo of Rome the night before the New York marathon with a group and had a good meal. Location is great nice and central.

My daughter and I had a superb time on our first night in New York at Alfredo of Rome in the Rockerfeller Centre. The portions were just right, not supersized and the fixed price menu was good value at $60. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Alfredos was classic Italian with a modern twist. Nice wine list with several good examples of appropriate American styles. Nice breads to start with 3 tasty dips, good quality pasta, generous lamb chops, very nice seafood spagetti and cheery staff - brisk American efficient service. Bright, modern and perhaps slightly noisy ambience but good introduction to New York dining.
